In this volatile moment on the planet, while nuclear weapons are being developed in North Korea, and an untold quantity of American ones point in return, the open-ended meanings of La Piedra y El Barco- or the missile and the shadow redirect violence to more peaceful and poetic visual outcomes. The painted wood and metal sculptures, whose shadows are made into huge prints, take on both the visuals of a missile and its target or the reduced outlines of a smooth stone and a simple boat.
